FACILITY POLICIES

GENERAL:
1.
The City of Newport News,
Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, is not responsible for
lost or damaged items.
2.
Per City Ordinance, smoking is not
allowed within 300 feet of any ball field. This includes all areas
inside the fenced complex, restrooms, concession stand and office.
3.
Fields not being used/rented are
not available for practice use. Use by scheduled permit only.
4.
No hitting or throwing balls into
fences or dugouts. No pulling or kicking fences.
5.
Teams are expected to clean-up
dugouts and put trash in receptacle before exiting for the next
game.
6.
No skateboards, bicycles, skates or
scooters allowed within the complex.
7.
No dogs or pets allowed at any time
within the complex.
8.
Stoney Run staff will be on site at
all times during operational hours and are the ONLY authorized
personnel to perform field maintenance.
9.
Facility closes at
11:00 pm nightly. Last inning can begin no later than
10:30 pm.
10.
Please respect the landscaping.
Anyone who causes damage to any landscaping or City property will
be removed from the premises and held responsible for their actions.
This includes damage to the outfields by players who dig into the
sand with their cleats or remove grass (not related to play).
FOOD AND BEVERAGES:
1.
The concession stand will be open
during most facility operational hours.
2.
Team water
coolers are allowed inside the complex.
Team players will be permitted to bring in needed drinks for during
game times only.
3.
No outside food
or drinks
will be allowed in the complex. If a person in your party requires
a special diet please notify the Complex Supervisor. Patrons are
allowed to bring food and drinks into the parking lots but not
within the green complex gates.
4.
No glass containers allowed in the
complex.
5.
No selling of outside food is
permitted at the complex or park.
6.
No alcoholic beverages allowed
within the
Stoney Run Park, including all parking areas.
BUILDING USAGE:
Upstairs of the
building is reserved for Stoney Run staff only.
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC:
1.
No cars, trucks or motorized
vehicles are allowed to be on any fields at any time.
2.
No vehicular traffic on the
aggregate circle drive directly around the building.
3.
Based on the size of events, bus
or motor home parking may be moved from parking areas next to the
fields to the entry area of the complex at the discretion of
facility staff.
4.
Please obey posted speed limits (15
MPH),
no parking areas, and do not enter signs.
INCLEMENT WEATHER:
1.
In the event of inclement weather,
the Stoney Run Facility Supervisor will make all decisions on field
playability. Dragging will not be allowed on wet fields at any
time. No drying substances will be added to fields by outside
groups. The Facility Supervisor will make all decisions on
maintenance requirements for playability and game cancellations.

WARM-UP ACCOMMODATIONS:
1.
Team warm-ups can be done in
designated areas only. These areas are located between fields 3 and
4 in addition to between fields 1 and 5. Batting cages (located
beyond Field #3) are on a first come first serve basis, but please
limit your time appropriately (15 to 20 min. per team) if there are
other teams waiting. Please see the Stoney Run Facility Supervisor
for other applicable locations.
VENDORS/ ENTRANCE FEES:
1.
A vendor fee of $50.00 per trailer
or 10’ x 10’ space will be charged for any merchandise sales,
including but not limited to: apparel, equipment, photography.
2.
All vendors and merchandise must be
pre-approved by the Stoney Run Facility Supervisor prior to the
event.
3.
All vendors are responsible for all
applicable licenses, permits and taxes. Please contact the Stoney
Run Facility Supervisor for requirements and contact information.
4.
Teams may display their TEAM
banners at each field or at the complex so long as content is
appropriate for all ages. All banners must be pre-approved by the
Stoney Run Facility Supervisor before they are displayed.
Facility requests
outside the scope of policies will be
reviewed on a case
by case basis.

THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION AND TOURISM.
